Equinoctial: New & Unpublished Work celebrates the tilt of the light, year tipping on its axis, sky creased at the perfect centre. At the intersection of the autumnal equinox, harvest moon, & her 27th birthday, Topaz Winters (Portrait of My Body as a Crime I’m Still Committing, Button Poetry) gathers four writers of poetry & prose to share work on the precipice of becoming: jason b. crawford (YEET!, Omnidawn Publishing), Caitlin Conlon (Burning the Ghost Light, Central Avenue Publishing), Kirsten Shu-ying Chen (light waves, Terrapin Books), & Mia Arias Tsang (Fragments of Wasted Devotion, Quilted Press). Before the light begins its long walk home, find these writers mid-sentence, reading pieces still shy of final form. Nothing stays level for long. Join us while the scale still holds.

There will be a signing after the event. Copies of the authors’ books will be available for purchase.

Topaz Winters is the Singaporean-American author of So, Stranger (Button Poetry 2022), which won the Button Poetry Short Form Contest & was a 2025 Sealey Challenge Pick & LitBowl Best Poetry Book of 2022. Her debut poetry collection, Portrait of My Body as a Crime I’m Still Committing (Button Poetry 2019 & 2024), was a finalist in the Broken River & Gaudy Boy Poetry Book Prizes. Topaz’s poetry, fiction & nonfiction are published in The Drift, Waxwing, Passages North, Pithead Chapel, Foglifter, & others. Her work has received support from the Studios at MASS MoCA, the Sundress Academy for the Arts, & the National YoungArts Foundation. She serves as the editor-in-chief at Half Mystic Press & lives between New York & Singapore.

Caitlin Conlon is the Pushcart-nominated author of Burning the Ghost Light (2025) and The Surrender Theory (2022). She has a BA in English and a Creative Writing Certificate from the University at Buffalo. While there, she was chosen for the Friends of the University Libraries Undergraduate Poetry Prize, and the Arthur Axlerod Memorial Prize for Poetry. Her writing and literary reviews have appeared or are forthcoming with Eunoia Review, Gather, Anti-Heroin Chic, and Rust + Moth, among others. She’s @cgcpoems almost everywhere.

Kirsten Shu-ying Chen was born and raised at the Jersey Shore. She is the author of the poetry collection light waves by Terrapin Books. A MacDowell fellow, Chen was also a finalist for the Autumn House Press Chapbook Prize and the Tomaz Salamun Chapbook Prize, among others. Mia Arias Tsang is a writer based in New York City. Her work explores how queer people try and fail to love each other. Her first collection, Fragments of Wasted Devotion, is out now with Quilted Press. She lives in Queens with her cat, Peanut, and is working on a novel. 

jason b. crawford is a queer poet. They are the author of YEET! (Omnidawn, 2025), winner of the Lambda Literary Award for LGBTQ+ Poetry, and Year of the Unicorn Kidz (Sundress Publications, 2022). A Lambda Literary Fellow, crawford was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Lansing, Michigan.
