Fall Sweat — Queer Erotica Writing Workshop with Christian Pan — “The Forbidden” Edition

November 3 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

GET TICKETS TO THIS EVENT HERE

This course welcomes authors at any stage of their career, from veterans who have a consistent writing practice, to folks returning to the page after a hiatus, to folks with little experience but who are curious, willing to experiment, and have fun. In-class, we will have writing prompts, discussion of key tools related to our craft, readings of excerpts from other authors’ work, and lively discussions. Participants in Fall Sweat are invited to write within the theme of “the forbidden”—what does this mean to you, and how can this appear on the page?

Fall Sweat will take place one night a week at the Bureau (in-person). Class size is capped at 15. Students may register for all 5 classes, as well as “drop-in” for a single session; each class is self-contained in terms of material, but students are encouraged to attend as many as possible, as each one builds upon the other. At the conclusion of the workshop, there will be a voluntary public reading at the Bureau, where participants can read excerpts from their writings to their friends and loved ones.

$15 — single session drop-in. NTAFLOF

The Bureau of General Services—Queer Division is Manhattan’s only queer bookstore, located on the second floor of the LGBT Center. We’re open Tuesday-Sunday from 1-7pm and accessible by the 6th Ave 1 2 3 L trains and 8th Ave A C E trains. Our cafe, The Bureau Cafe, is open Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-7pm.
