Healey and Gidney’s work portrays the otherworldliness of the southern border and America’s misunderstood African-American past. Their work is an invitation to an America that could be in the wake of an America that was\, an America haunted with the promise of ghosts that cannot be forgotten and that can in fact enrich us.
