SUMMARY:Writing Queer Crime & Mystery Fiction: 2nd session
DESCRIPTION:  \nA 5-Week Workshop\, Wednesdays July 13\, 20\, 27\, August 3 and 10\, 6 – 8 p.m. Led by Ann Aptaker. \nIs there a Queer perspective to writing crime & mystery fiction? This 5-week workshop will take students through the art and craft of crime and mystery writing\, as experienced through Queer characters. Students will learn the importance of “voice\,” character development\, how character drives plot\, and the distinctions of the genre’s various styles (cozy\, hard boiled\, noir\, thriller\, who-done-it\, etc.\,) through Queer experience. The third book in the series\, Genuine Gold\, is scheduled for release in January 2017 from Bold Strokes Books.
