DESCRIPTION: \nPublished 14 years apart Mike Albo’s Hornito (2001) and Brontez Purnell’s Johnny Would You Love Me If My Dick Were Bigger (2015) are a literature pairing made in queer heaven. Both have as their driving force the yearnings\, learnings and explorations of sweet\, funny\, unapologetically horny protagonists on the hunt for community\, love\, and dick. Each providing an insider view into the cultural context in which they were written: Hornito’s late 90s white gay-centric queer New York\, and Johnny’s contemporary black Bay Area queer punk activist scene.\n \nWorthy of enjoyment independent of each other\, the book club will provide ample time for both to be discussed in their own right\, while also setting aside time to reflect on what they offer when read together.
